Overview

A very handy trick to copy the full path of a file or folder in Finder:

1. Right-click the item. This will display the usual menu
2. Hold down the Alt (⌥) key. This will show a few more items.
3. Select Copy “item” as Pathname
4. The path will be in the clipboard.
